What is Reiki?
Reiki is a natural healing energy activated by intention. It works on every level, not just the physical. The practice of Reiki is an original method of healing, developed by Mikao Usui in Japan early in the 20th century.
The Japanese word Reiki means 'Universal Energy'. Eastern medicine has always recognised and worked with this energy, which flows through all living things and is vital to well being; known as 'ki' in Japan, 'chi' in China and 'prana' in India. Acupuncture, Tai chi and Yoga are also based on the free-flow of this energy in a person.
Reiki is a non-invasive therapy whose aim is to treat holistically and to restore homeostasis.
Safety
Reiki is a gentle yet powerful complementary therapy that may be used with confidence alongside orthodox healthcare. As such, it expands treatment options.
Reiki is not, however, an alternative to conventional medicine.
What Happens During a Session?
A Reiki treatment is non-diagnostic, non-interventionist, non-manipulative and no pressure is applied.
A session is usually carried out with the recipient lying down, or sitting. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki energy passes easily through all materials, including plaster casts.
The practitioner places their hands gently on or over the body. The recipient automatically draws in only as much energy as is needed, using it whatever way is most appropriate at the time.
Reiki may be experienced as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth, coolness, other sensation, or nothing at all.
Reiki is a deeply relaxing and has a profoundly calming effect. The beneficial effects may be felt for several days.
Benefits of Reiki
What is SSR?
Sekhem (pronounced "Say-kem") is an Egyptian word meaning power or might. Sekhem is also the Egyptian equivalent of the Indian term prana and the words chi and ki as used in the Orient to denote the all-encompassing essential force that binds the universe together and is present in all life. Sekhem is both all around us and in us.
Seichim (SAY KEEM) is an Egyptian word meaning living light energy as well as an acient Egyptian system of healing wisdom.
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning 'Universal Energy.
Reiki and Seichim are standalone healing systems that until recently have been taught and applied separately.
SSR is a healing matrix that is a unique integration of these three related, yet distinct, multidimensional energies. Sekhem, Seichim and Reiki work together as a unified trinity of sacred healing energies to completely balance and harmonize a person's physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. This expands the individual's capacity to carry more light and love and anchors and grounds the essential life force within his or her energy system 1.
Like Reiki, SSR is a gentle, non-intrusive touch therapy which brings wholness to the recipient.
A session is usually carried out with the recipient lying down, or sitting. There is no need to remove any clothing as the energies pass easily through all materials, including plaster casts.
Benefits
Sekhem, Seichim and Reiki are from the same family of origin and were widely taught in temples in Egypt, Tibet, and India. All are equal in power just different in vibration level, like the colours of the rainbow, just a different spectrum from the Universal energy, which opens and expands our mind.
Einstein's theory of the Universe is based on all is energy and information. So, Reiki is more energy dedicated, while Sekhem and Seichim have a more informational aspect. In other words, Seichim's philosophy is 'Energy follows the mind'.
